Tiger Woods Will Live Aboard His $20 Million Yacht During US Open

Tiger Woods Will Live Aboard His $20 Million Yacht During US Open

Plenty of work goes into prepping for a professional sports tournament.

Woods has decided against the travesty of a hotel room or a rented home, and has opted to stay aboard the questionably dubbed Privacy.

The year's US Open also marks the 10th anniversary of Woods' 14th, and most recent, major victory, when he memorably played through the pain to edge out Rocco Mediate in a Monday play-off, which was also the last time the tournament required extra holes.

The yacht, named "Privacy", is docked at Gurney's Yacht Club in Montauk, a luxury resort roughly 26 miles east of Shinnecock Hills.

Not a bad place to dock a yacht.

The vessel requires a crew of nine to operate, and has a running cost of $2 million a year. We do hope anyone aboard the Privacy is careful with any dark liquids, as there are also white silk wall coverings and white carpeting throughout much of it.

Woods bought the boat in 2004 after his marriage to Elin Nordegren and the couple reportedly spent their wedding night on the yacht.

Woods will stay on the boat next week, as he prepares for and plays in the Open. It contains a theater, gym and jacuzzi among other amenities.

Woods tried to sell the yacht, which has entertained friends including Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and Michael Jordan, in 2011 but couldn't find a buyer.
