Wendy's, Denny's and more trolling IHOP over burger announcement

Wendy's, Denny's and more trolling IHOP over burger announcement

Speculation that the "b" stood for breakfast was shot down when IHOP employees began spilling the beans about the burgers. The 60-year-old pancake chain announced its decision to drop the Pancakes from its name, and has rebranded as the International House of Burgers. On Monday, the company unveiled what the B stands for, and IHOP fans were less than pleased. But who cares? This is the internet and we've already reacted.

By now, you've heard the International House of Pancakes is now calling itself "IHOb, "swapping the "pancakes" for "burgers."".

Just as many speculated on social media about the name change, Twitter has been quick to react to the great reveal. And we imagine IHOP will be realizing before long what the people really want from its kitchen.

Turkel said the new name may get consumers to think of IHOP as an establishment that serves more than a breakfast meal. "Since we know you're all waiting in anticibation for what the b could be, we've chose to give you one more biece of the buzzle", it tweeted June 8.

IHOb was quick to respond, tweeting back, "All in is all we know".

The change is actually to celebrate the restaurant's new line of burgers. It is only a marketing campaign and IHOP isn't officially changing its name.

"The change, in fact, celebrates the debut of the brand's new Ultimate Steakburgers", the company said in a press release about the seven new all-natural burger varieties.

The brand has "flipped the "p" to a "b" in their iconic name for the time being, including its Twitter handle", the news release reads.
