Avengers: Infinity War Hits $2 Billion Worldwide!

Avengers: Infinity War Hits $2 Billion Worldwide!

The film will be set before the events of Infinity War, which became only the fourth film in history to cross the $2 billion mark at the global box office. Avengers: Infinity War now stands at United States dollars $ 2.01 billion. It's also, it should be said, Disney's second film to crack $2 billion after Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which completed its run with $2,068,223,624 worldwide. I have a feeling we're going to be having this exact same discussion again then, and if Avengers 4 is anywhere as good as Infinity War was, then I can't wait to see it dominate as well.

In the domestic market, which comprises of the United States and Canada, Infinity War is now the fifth highest-grossing film of all time, only behind The Force Awakens ($936.6 million), Avatar ($760.5 million), Black Panther ($699.4 million), and Titanic ($659.3 million).

While this latest stratospheric reach by the Marvel Cinematic Universe megamovie probably arrives to the surprise of few, considering its seemingly interminable Infinity Gauntlet-like box office power, the $2 billion crossing is an astounding achievement that deserves special reflection, nevertheless.

Avengers: Infinity War was released nearly two months ago, but it continues to rake in billions at the box office.

Avenger's Infinity War had the best global opening weekend ever and hit $1 billion at the box office faster than any other film. It holds the record for biggest domestic debut ever with $257.7 million in its opening weekend. In China, the film's $369.7 million gross to date ranks third all-time. Internationally, it is the third highest grossing release ever with $1.346 billion.

Avengers: Infinity War has a mega star cast including Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), Chris Pratt (Star Lord) and Zoe Saldana (Gamora) among many others.

Avengers: Infinity War brings together 22 superheroes to fight one super villain Thanos.
