Liverpool-linked Lemar on way to La Liga

Liverpool-linked Lemar on way to La Liga

The French player has admitted that he's made a decision about his future and it looks like he'll announce it before France make their debut in the World Cup on Saturday.

'The two clubs will continue to work in the coming days in order to find a definitive agreement'.

Monaco echoed Atleti's statement on their official Twitter feed, saying: "AS Monaco and @Atleti announce that they have found an agreement in principle for the transfer of Thomas Lemar". This is because he, alongside whichever club he named, would be liable to sanctions from Federation Internationale de Football Association seeing as the player has a valid contract with Atletico Madrid and no offer has officially been made yet.

Having previously stated that he would announce his decision before France's opening World Cup game on Saturday, Griezmann chose to keep quiet.

The 27-year-old France striker called a press conference, but surprisingly refused to confirm whether he will move or stay in the Spanish capital.

Griezmann has been dedicating a lot of time to his decision, and reports claim that he's turned to French teammates while preparing for the World Cup for advice.

While Liverpool and Arsenal have been interested in signing him again this summer, with Chelsea also said to be keen, none of the Premier League clubs have made a concrete offer.

It is the second successive summer that Griezmann has been the subject of speculation over a big-money switch away from the Rojiblancos.

Both Barcelona and Manchester United have expressed interest in the forward, who has a release clause of €200m.

Lemar has scored 22 goals in 123 games for Monaco and helped them win Ligue 1 and reach the Champions League semi-finals in 2016-17.
