Trump visit: London on LOCKDOWN as trip to spark protests

Earlier this week Mr Trump said it was "up to the people" whether the prime minister stayed on after two cabinet ministers resigned over her Brexit policy. "I'm going to a pretty hot spot right now, a lot of resignations".

Speaking at an impromptu press conference after a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels Trump said the British people shared his concerns on immigration, claiming "that's why Brexit happened".

"Ironically, it's also standing in solidarity with those people who voted for Trump, who ultimately their lives will be affected negatively by this...because they've been lied to, they've been manipulated".

When asked about Trump's remarks, May said in Brussels: "What we are doing is delivering on the vote of the British people... that's what our proposal does".

That turmoil includes the resignations of May's Brexit and foreign ministers over her plan to retain close ties with the European Union after leaving the bloc in March.

Most Britons support President Donald Trump's visit to the United Kingdom, a new poll has found.

"There is no stronger alliance than that of our special relationship with the U.S. and there will be no alliance more important in the years ahead", the British leader said. "Obviously demonstrations are one of the most visible ones, but there's also the potential opportuning and exploitation of the visit by those with more nefarious intentions". It was London mayor Sadiq Khan who gave the go ahead for the orange balloon and he clashed on ITV's This Morning with host Piers Morgan.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Mr Ruddy said: 'Trump will think the baby balloon is about him so it's probably a positive thing.

"It's important for us to send a powerful signal to those who are resisting and campaigning in America that we are standing in solidarity with them", Rehman said. She's planning to attend anti-Trump protests.

The reason: demonstrations are planned against President Donald Trump, in London, as well as Windsor, Bristol, Newcastle, Leeds, Cambridge, Cardiff, Glasgow and the west coast of Scotland, where Trump has a golf course.

As thousands of people prepare to protest on the streets of London on Friday and as an inflatable blimp depicting him as a baby in a nappy is prepared to be flown above central London, Trump also claimed that he is in fact very popular in the country.

A campaign is also underway to get "American Idiot", a 2004 song by the United States punk rock band Green Day, to the top of the UK Singles Chart.

On Thursday, Trump will travel to Blenheim Palace, the 18th-century stately home where Britain's World War Two leader Winston Churchill was born and spent most of his childhood.

On Friday, Trump will meet May and her newly appointed Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt at the prime minister's countryside retreat, Chequers.

The declaration was odd given the topic being discussed was whether the President would support a Hard Brexit for the UK.

They will then meet the Queen for the first time, at Windsor Castle, before heading to Scotland where the U.S. president will spend the weekend at his Turnberry golf course in Ayrshire.
