Microsoft Is Teasing 'All-New Xbox Hardware' For Gamescom 2018

On Xbox Live director of programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb's blog, he wrote that there will be "all-new Xbox hardware and accessories". Now Xbox owners can get in on the fun, because the Ultimate Game Sale is live on the Microsoft Store.

So for a moment, we had our excitement shoot up at the idea of a next-generation Xbox, only to have cold water poured over the rumour fire.

A purported sequel to the Xbox Elite leaked earlier this year, but we've yet to see any definitive proof of its existence since January. As soon as Microsoft realised people thought they meant a new console they changed the wording to "new Xbox One bundles and accessories". Microsoft confirmed today that it will be at Gamescom next month, and it teased some of the items it'll have on display.

The new version seems to be only a relatively minor upgrade though, with a USB-C charging port, Windows 10 Bluetooth support, three-level hair trigger locks, and redesigned paddles. Standard controllers in more colours and game theme branding might also be on the way. Many tech products were on sale at Amazon and, of course, games consoles were in demand.

As indicated in the promotional image below, this year's Xbox Ultimate Game Sale will last for several days, and end on July 30, 2018. The greatest value bundle was the Xbox One S Starter Bundle, which came with Rare Replay, on sale for $229.99, highlights Microsoft marketer Aaron Greenberg.
