Trump insists 'collusion is not a crime'

Trump insists 'collusion is not a crime'

The president's tweet comes one day after his attorney, Rudy Giuliani, said he does not think collusion with Russian Federation would be considered a crime.

On Tuesday, he echoed his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, who said in television interviews on Monday that collusion is not a crime.

Where associates of the president used to declare no collusion ever happened, some are now saying simply that collusion isn't a crime.

The former NY mayor and federal prosecutor echoed a sentiment he expressed earlier in the day on "Fox and Friends".

Acknowledging that Manafort's trial begins on Tuesday, Giuliani said, "Right, and he has no information incriminating of the president - I know that for a fact". You start analyzing the crime - the hacking is the crime. The timing of the president's statements in Doral, Florida, urging the Russians to go find the missing emails [of Hillary Clinton] or hack into the DNC computers. "He didn't pay for the hacking".

A knowledgeable source told NBC News that Cohen is willing to inform Mueller that Trump Jr. told his father about the meeting, contradicting Trump Jr.'s congressional testimony in May 2017. So collusion is not only a crime; collusion involves at least four crimes.

But Mr Giuliani was persuaded to continue with the fiery interview at the compromise of being offered some coffee. "Your client, Trump, is under investigation by the Special Counsel for both". Trump believed the bureau's investigation was over and that Flynn had been cleared, his attorneys claimed. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) wrote on Twitter on Monday, citing a reference in the federal code.

Russian Federation has denied the finding of US intelligence agencies past year that it interfered to sway the election to Trump.

Now, it's true that the term "collusion" doesn't show up in the legal code for the issues at stake here.

Trump has escalated his attacks on Mueller and the investigation he repeatedly calls a "witch hunt", in what is seen as an attempt to influence public opinion before Mueller producer a report, and as the November midterm elections that will decide control of Congress draw closer. "I feel like it's Christmas morning, because all year long, Robert Mueller and his team of legal elves have been busy in their workshop, making all the indictments for all the bad little boys and girls - and the magical day we've all been waiting for is finally here".

Of course, whether or not Trump was there is not the question.
