Sanders stands by Trump after he calls press 'enemy of the people'

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders shut down CNN's Jim Acosta on Thursday, spurring him to leave the briefing room in a snit. In a tweet last month following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump said the media had mischaracterized the summit.

Acosta (pictured above right) used his one question at the White House press briefing to confront Sanders (above left) about Trump's characterization of the "fake news" media as the "enemy of the people".

Acosta then reminded Sanders that she did not say whether or not she considers the media the "enemy of the people". I don't always agree and am often upset with journalists but we are flashing warning lights now that we shouldn't be flashing.

"The media has attacked me personally on a number of occasions, including your own network - said I should be harassed as a life sentence, that I should be choked", Sanders said. She also cited the comedian who performed at the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner, saying the comic was brought in "to attack my appearance and call me a traitor to my own gender".

The White House press secretary has continuously stood by the president's controversial rhetoric and demeanour toward the media.

Pressed further, Sanders said, "I've addressed my personal feelings". "But you did not say that the press is not the enemy of the people".

Acosta and other members of the national media will be in Wilkes-Barre Thursday night to cover Trump's rally for Rep. Lou Barletta, a Republican Senate candidate and ally of the president.

Osama's half-brothers say their mother remains in denial about the terror lord and "refuses to blame him".

Sanders reminded Acosta her job is to "speak on behalf of the president", noting that "he's made his comments clear".

Bin Laden mother's statement also confirms that, by recruiting 15 Saudis in the 9/11 attacks, Bin Laden had a clear objective that was mentioned in the Central Intelligence Agency documents and Congressional investigations, which was to create a schism between the Middle East and the West, and between Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Sanders did not respond to CNN requests asking which article she was specifically referring to, but Sanders appeared to be drawing on a claim by former President George W. Bush and the 9/11 Commission.

Acosta walked out of the press briefing before it was over.

The Trump administration wants to change the way capital gains are handled, a move that would save $100 billion for wealthy people with big stock portfolios, The New York Times reported. "We fully support a free press, but there also comes a high level of responsibility with that". "They got money for their cause", Ghanem said. It's a safe bet things are only going to get worse between journalists and the White House and some of Trump's supporters before - if - they get better.
