AC Milan's number nine shirt holds no fear for Gonzalo Higuain

AC Milan's number nine shirt holds no fear for Gonzalo Higuain

Speaking as he was unveiled as an AC Milan player, as reported by David Amoyal, Higuain hints that those behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge were not so keen to bring him to the club.

"In total sincerity, the esteem I have for Sarri is huge but he was the only who wanted me", he said at a press conference.

AC Milan finish their pre-season preparations on Sunday when they face Barcelona, while Juventus' final pre-season game is against Real Madrid on Saturday.

Higuain, 30, was likely to see his minutes at Juventus reduced in the upcoming season after the Italian champions' signing of Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this summer. Higuain in the process turned down a transfer to Premier League side Chelsea and he recently revealed why.

"The important thing for me is to make them feel at home and going forward it's going to be a pleasure. But only maybe one player", Sarri said. It will be a great opportunity for me to play beside him. I renewed in November and may be able to do it again soon.

"I want us to get as far as possible, I'm very happy to be here".

Higuain though said it held no fear for him as he was officially presented by his new club on Friday. "It's hard to imagine that this has happened", said Bonucci. "I had two handsome years there and I can only thank them".

"As far as we are concerned, we come from a very hard time in our club".

Caldara, 24, also signed a five-year deal with Milan. I've been talking to Higuain a lot and I believe the fact that he is coming here is a reason to be proud. "It gives you goosebumps, it's special stuff".
