Melania Trump backs National Basketball Association star LeBron James after Trump insults

James was insulted by President Donald Trump on Twitter Friday night following a re-airing of an interview with CNN. It's always been something that brings people together.

'Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon.

Jordan is not the only basketball player to comment after the Trump tweet.

Jordan also voiced his support for James in the feud, telling NBC News "I support LJ".

"What I've noticed over the past few months [is] he's kind of used sports to kind of divide us", James told CNN's Don Lemon on Monday.

"He's doing an unbelievable job for his community", Jordan, now owner of the National Basketball Association's Charlotte Hornets, told NBC News through a spokesperson. He took a dig at James' intelligence in a tweet nearly a year later. The president reportedly was incensed recently when he got on Air Force One and the first lady's TV set was tuned to the news network, and not Fox News.

It's unclear whether James intended his Saturday tweet to be a response to Trump. She noted that the first lady's platform, centered around the "Be Best" initiative, includes "visiting organizations, hospitals and schools".

Jordan expressed his support for James on Saturday.

"Who's the real dummy?"

Trump's rally lasted for more than an hour, and while he attacked Democrats and other familiar targets, he never mentioned the home-state hero.

"So let me get this straight: Flint, MI has dirty water still, but you anxious about an interview about a man doing good for education and generations of kids in his hometown?"

He has taken plenty of shots at the current president, for instance.

James addressed several topics during the interview including a reference to NFL player Colin Kaepernick, whose kneeling protests during the national anthem to protest police treatment of African Americans, launched an NFL movement.

Trump has long denounced the media - CNN in particular - and rarely lets a slight go unnoticed.

President Donald Trump is turning his wrath on basketball superstar LeBron James. Stephen Curry, who Mr. Trump claimed past year he disinvited from the White House, wrote "Keep doing you" with a link to James' interview.
