Michael Moore's Trump documentary will release in September

Michael Moore's Trump documentary will release in September

Other films joining TIFF's 2018 documentary lineup include Rashida Jones' Quincy, a non-fiction chronicle of her father's life, Tom Donahue's Geena Davis-produced This Changes Everything, which examines the gender dynamics in Hollywood after in the wake of the #MeToo movement, and Mark Cousins' Women Make Film: A New Road Movie Through Cinema, a Tilda Swinton-narrated exploration of cinema in the hands of female directors. And even if it does contain some massive revelation, Moore himself said it right there: by now Trump has built his entire presidency on statements that would have gotten anyone else kicked out of Washington, so why would we ever believe that he'll get taken down by a documentary?

How do you feel about a Michael Moore-helmed Donald Trump documentary?

The trailer shows clips of interviews with activists, politicians and former members of Trump's 2016 campaign, including Parkland shooting survivors David Hogg and Emma González, Democratic House candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and former Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone.

Speaking with HuffPost, Moore described the motives behind his new film.

"Fahrenheit 11/9" will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, the festival announced Thursday.

"American journalism schools have not trained students how to cover an authoritarian leader". "Our media has no idea what it is up against".

There's even a moment where Moore decides to spray down a governor's home with contaminated water from Flint, Michigan, which is now over 1,300 days without clean water.

Moore has previously said Trump will win the next presidential election in 2020 but speaking to chat show host Bill Maher in June, he said: "I'm finishing my movie and getting it out before the midterms because I want millions of people to get to the polls".

The trailer for "Fahrenheit 11/9" is fairly unfocused, but it seems to be pulling the usual leftist talking points: Trump is a dictator, his supporters are racist, America is not the greatest country in the world, pigs will soon fly, blah, blah, blah.
